(2017-ongoing)

Plastic matter is a thought-provoking series exploring careless consumption habits of modern society, a society of plenty. Plastic items and single-use attributes to modern city life seen in the photographs invite viewers to explore their environmental consciousness level.

Single-use objects sipped into our fast-paced, consumer driven culture as such a common sight, that their presence is often neglected, despite shocking plastic pollution reports. Now more than ever, with the use of masks and gloves that have become so widespread during the pandemic. A peril hiding in plain view, a timestamp.

The photographs turn public attention to our individual habits, portraying ordinary street scenes with deceitfully insignificant daily choices. The presence of single-use elements in the photographs is not overwhelming, but hopefully staying with the photographs long enough allows one to feel a hint of unease.
